David Carlisle Fair DURHAM - David Carlisle Fair, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away at age 66 on September 19, 2018. He was born on September 27, 1951, in Anderson, South Carolina, to the late Cornelia Ball Fair and James Carlisle Fair. Raised in Charlotte, David was educated in East Mecklenburg High School and the Georgia Military Academy. He was an entrepreneur and artist whose lifetime of creativity was evident in many ways. His natural inclination toward problem solving and engineering led to a variety of artistic and practical projects ranging from vintage car restoration to wood working along with many interesting ways to make every day life more efficient. In addition to his father, David is survived by his brother, Jeffrey H. Fair (Lyn), an Aunt, Sara C. Fair, two nieces, one nephew, a great niece, and a great nephew. David was a true animal lover, having enjoyed the company of several aussies in his later years. The family invites donations to honor David's life to Animal Protection Society of Durham, 2117 Club Blvd., Durham, NC 27704, or Carolina Hearts Aussie Rescue, 2808 Newquay St., Durham, NC 27705. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation Society of the Carolinas is assisting the Fair family.
