As a young boy Bill moved with his parents from California to Phoenix, Arizona, Butler, Oklahoma and Clinton, Oklahoma before settled in Vicksburg, Oklahoma. He attended school in Arapaho where he graduated from high school in 1961. After graduation he spent a short time in the United States Air Force before finding employment with the Oklahoma Highway Department in the construction division. He met and was married to Annette (Moffat) Stanley on May 16, 1964 in Clinton, Oklahoma. After their marriage they made their home in Elk City where they raised their family. Bill went to work for Paul Hughes where he continued to preform surveys. In the early 80's he worked for Topographic Engineering before owning and operating his own business, Stanley Surveying Service. He continued until his retirement in 2011 where he enjoyed reading, watching t.v., attending church services and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Annette, of the home, 3 children, Darryl Stanley, Durham, OK, Carl Stanley, Vicksburg, OK and Cathy Stanley, Denton, TX; 1 granddaughter, Cheyenne Qualls, Texarkana, TX; 1 great grandson, Alex Ballard, Texarkana, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Monday, August 12, 2019, 10:00 AM at Whinery Funeral Service officiated by Dale Royal. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Whinery Funeral Service.
