Christopher Glen "Chris" Erickson passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Nampa, Idaho. He was born on April 3, 1961, in San Pedro, CA. He was 51.
In 1981 he graduated from Paradise High School. In 1996 he graduated with an Associate Degree in HVAC and Appliance Repair.
He found true love and in 1996 married Tammy Anderson. He is survived by their children, whom he loved and adored: Robert Anderson (and wife Barbara) of Melba, Idaho; Thomas Dean of Paradise; Benjamin Hilde of Melba, Idaho; Tatiyana, Tia, Kristen, Skylar, and Brittany Erickson, all of Melba, Idaho.
Chris worked for Sears Parts and Service in Chico, CA, before his health declined in 2006. He loved baseball, camping, hiking, and gold panning. Most of all, he enjoyed riding his quad in the mountains and throughout the town of Melba, where he and his family resided for the last 2 ½ years.
Chris had a heart of kindness and generosity, was a friend to all, and gladly helped anyone who asked. For the past two years he volunteered in his home town, especially enjoying the 4th of July Melba Olde Tyme Celebration. He coached Little League for many years in Paradise, CA and in Melba, ID. He was a happy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, active in the Melba 3rd Ward.
Chris dearly loved his family: Mother, Judi Hill of Paradise, CA; Father and his wife, Jerry & Jan Erickson of Woodinville, WA; Siblings Jeff Erickson of Lake Stevens, WA; Deanna Erickson of Granite Bay, CA; Mike Erickson of Roseville, CA; Shannon Hill of Paradise, CA; Jason Hill of Lynnwood, WA; Jimmy Hill of Bakersfield, CA; Davey Hill of Bakersfield, CA; Greg Erickson of Mill Creek, WA; and Suzanne Yoh of Charlotte, NC.
He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Justin, Blake, and Heather Anderson of Melba, ID, and Ashley Dean of Sacramento, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a baby sister, Kari Kaye Hill in 1978. It is her hand that he now holds. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, D.L. Hill, whom he loved and respected with all his heart.
Chris was a true American who adored his country. He was a great man, husband, father, son, brother, and 'Poppa.' He will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
