Our loving father and G-Daddy, Kevin J. Butler, 61, passed away on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 at his residence in Kuna, Idaho.
Kevin was born to LaVere “Hank” Butler and Gloria Butler on June 20th, 1958 in Bellflower, California. Kevin was the youngest of three siblings; sister Toni and brother Steve.
Kevin was a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer, beginning his career at the Corona Police Department at an early age. After his relocation to Idaho, Kevin joined the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office. In 1985, Kevin graduated from the POST Academy with class number 69 and began his employment with Idaho State Police. Kevin spent the first few years as a patrol officer before becoming a K-9 officer, which was his passion. He went on to serve as a Detective for the remainder of his 24-year career with ISP.
Kevin was a proud dad to his only daughter, Amanda, who was born in December of 1981. Kevin enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his grandchildren, Kambria, Kallee, and Brett. While Kevin was excited to welcome his fourth grandchild, Aria, unfortunately he passed before he was able to. Kevin will be remembered for his infectious smile and witty sense of humor.
