Charles LeRoy Dickerson
Charles LeRoy Dickerson, age 66, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
Charles was born the son of Cordis Filando and Lura Maxine (Vaughn) Dickerson on January 14, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a 1971 graduate of Northeast High School, Kansas City, Missouri. Charles was united in marriage to Marjorie (Benz) Phipps on March 8, 2003, in Martin City, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a truck driver for Waller Trucking for many years. Charles was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri. He enjoyed square dancing, gardening, singing, farming and raising chickens.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Dickerson, of the home; one son, Nathaniel Dickerson of Vinita, Oklahoma; one daughter, Rosabelle Neal of Vinita, Oklahoma; two stepsons, Gary Phipps, Jr. and wife Laura of Kansas City, Missouri, and Paul Phipps and wife Ingrid of Avondale, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Katherine Stambaugh and husband David of Norborne, Missouri; one grandchild; five stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Bradford and husband Barny of Porterville, California, and Shirley Ardrey of Liberty, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Charlotte (Bunch) Dickerson; and two brothers, Jimmie Dickerson and Hershal (Buddy) Stephens.
A memorial service will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, August 10, 2019, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, August 9, 2019, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
