Jerry O'Neal Casey
July 29, 1948 - August 8, 2019
Mr. Jerry O’Neal Casey, 71, of Richmond, passed away early Thursday morning, August 8, 2019, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
He was born in Madison County on July 29, 1948 to the late Orville and Naomi Rhodus Casey. Jerry was a graduate of Madison Central High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Kentucky Business College. He was a founding member of several organizations including: Madison County Street Rods Association, American Legion Riders Association, and was involved with both Boys & Girls Little League. He was a member of the American Legion Post 12.
Jerry served his country in the US Army with the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War and was also a former police officer with the Richmond Police Department.
Survivors include: his wife, Tammie Collins Casey; one son, Sean Casey (Nancy); one daughter, Leslie Bollinger (Dustin); two step-daughters, Nikki and Marry Jeffers; one brother, Bobby Casey (Linda); eight grandchildren and a host of other extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his brothers, Roger Perkins, Norvile Gean Casey and Harold B. “Sam” Casey and two sisters, Barbara Hendricks and Gloria Carol Medlock.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, with Bro. Mark Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Jim Rhodus, Clayton Bond, Leslie Renfro, David Denny, Ronnie Murphy and Charles Rowland.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Paul Mays, Danny Williams, Everett King, Bill Jesse, Dwayne Evans, Doug Owens, and Eddie Richardson.
