GARLAND, Box Elder county - Wilford LeRoy Allred, 73, died Thursday evening (9-22-49) at the family home after a years illness. Mr. Allred was born Sept 7, 1876 in Spring City, Sanpete County, son of Reddick N. and Amila McPherson Allred.

The family moved to Chester, Sanpete County when he was four years old. He attended Snow College in Ephraim. On June 6, 1900 in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was married to Rose Linda Christensen.

He was a merchant in Chester and was postmaster for two years. He also served two years on the north Sanpete board of education. He was an active member of the Church, serving as bishop of Chester Ward ten years, superintendent of the Sunday School for two years, president of the Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association for two years and as a member of the North Sanpete Stake high council.

The family moved to Garland 23 years ago. Mr. Allred served as counselor in the Bear River Stake Sunday School superintendency, as a Sunday School teacher and as an advisor to the deacons' quorum.

Surviving are his widow, Garland; 11 sons and daughters, Mrs. Gladys Jensen, Garland, LeRoy and Claude Allred and Mrs. Dora Agner, Fielding, Box Elder County; Vernon, Clare and Bob Allred and Mrs. Roselin Draper, Ogden; Mrs. Vodys Ward, Bountiful; Jed Allred and Mrs. Irene Holman, Burbank, Calif.; 29 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Pratt Allred, Salt Lake City.
