Bonnie Jean (Slider) Meador, 79, of Jacksonville, passed away Jan. 26, 2010, in Tyler.
Bonnie was born on Aug. 1, 1930, in Jacksonville and was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Florence (Warren) Slider and George Blakely Slider. She was also preceded by brothers and sisters, Jack Slider, Marguerite Phillips, Mildred Rainey, Treva Pittillo, Merle Thompson, Carlton Slider and Mary Ellen Priestly. She is survived by her brother, Bill Slider; husband, J. Monroe Meador; children, Diana Lynn Meador, Bruce Carroll Meador and wife Jean Meador; and beloved grandchildren, Erika Patricia Meador and Dylan Evans Meador. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Meador, Peg Bivens, Carolyn Smith, William Meador; several nieces, nephews and numerous close friends.
Bonnie graduated from Jacksonville High School, attended Lon Morris College and Southwestern Bible Institute. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and The Worker's Sunday School Class.
Bonnie was a student of the arts, but more specifically music. She loved musicals and had seen "The Sound of Music" more than most, but watched it as if it were a new release every time. More importantly, she loved all of God's creations, had a real love for the country setting and was genuinely a kind soul. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Autry Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Joe Weaver, Jim Kolb, James Spivey, Robert Rainey, Michael Bivens, Clifton Batton, Olen Phillips and Ted Warren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Pittillo, Jack Williams and deacons of First Baptist Church.
