GRAVESIDE SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. EVA BURRIS BUTCHER WHO DIED AT HAMPTON, IOWA, THURSDAY
Elliott, April 21 - Gravesides services for Mrs. Eva Burris Butcher, 71, former resident of this place, Sunday at 5 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, with Rev. William Lee officiating. She passed away following a heart attack Thursday afternoon at her home at Hampton. she was born near Red Oak, December 27, 1972 and was married to E. U. Butcher at Elliott June 28, 1896. She was a past matron of the O.E.S. and a faithful member of the Church of Christ, and funeral services were held during the regular church service Sunday morning at the Church of Christ in Hampton, where they had made their home the past 30 years. She is survived by her husband and a brother, Clark Burris, Des Moines and a sister, Mrs. Cena Johnston, Murray. The body was accompanied to Elliott by the husband, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swisher of Des Moines. Those from out of town attending the services here were Mrs. Agnes Duprey and Mrs. Gale Madden of Avoca, Mrs. M. Bender, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Custer and Dale Petty of Red Oak.
