Robert A. "Bob" Gruber, 79, of Amarillo died Saturday, June 30, 2007.

Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Monday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St..

Mr. Gruber was a graduate of Price College. He married Virginia McMinn on July 6, 1949, in Amarillo. Mr. Gruber served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Viola Gruber; three brothers, Gerald, Clarence and Jerome; and a sister, Alice Farhar.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Ginger" Gruber; two sisters, Eileen Detten of Amarillo and Patricia Arnold of Sun City West, Ariz.; a brother, Wayne Gruber of Jonesboro, Ark.; a sister-in-Law, Patricia Gruber of Houston; and special friends and caregivers, Sandra, Carmen and Martha.

The family suggests memorials be to Olivia's Angels, BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
