LANGE, John David, 76, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Marguerite Lange. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kathy; and his five children, Michele Lange, Christine Lac (Ly), David Lange (Adeline), Riana Bocchino (Patrick) and Katy Pruden (Christopher); three brothers, August, Thomas (Donna) and James. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita and Ron Hughes, James Riani, Donna and Richard Barker, Johnny and Connie Riani, Christina and John Venuti, Jeanne and Joey Cincotta and Regina Quinn; along with many nieces and nephews. John was proud to brag about his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A seventh grandchild is due in March, who will be named John. John had many lifelong friends who will miss him, especially Shelly and Sheila Williams, Bob and Nancy Belton and Bill West. John was devoted to his church communities, having grown up in St. Benedict's and St. Paul's parishes and attended St. Paul's, St. Benedict's Schools and Benedictine High School '60, and later Belmont Abbey College '64. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for the last 36 years, where he formed some wonderful friendships. He was especially proud to be a member of a group of faithful men who attended daily Mass followed by coffee and breakfast, better known as the ROMEO's (Really Old Men Eating Out). John retired from Dominion Power after a 30-plus year career. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend and leaves behind a void that will be hard to fill. The family will receive friends 5:30 to 8 p.m., with a Christian Wake service at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 30, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 31, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, Richmond, Va. 23229.
