Carl Crone
Carl Baker (Bud) Crone, 72, Charlestown Died March 4 at his home.
He was a native of Crandall, born April 22, 1924, the son of the late George Nelson
and Lillian Guteknecht Crone.
He was a retired deckhand for Wooten River Service and a Navy veteran
of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Singleton: four sons, Carl "Skip" Crone
of Charlestown, Patrick A. Crone of Charlotte, N.C., Kent E. Crone of Watson and
Andrew Crone of Jeffersonville; A daughter Gaye Decker Bell of Charlestown;
a brother, Archie Crone of New Salisbury; three sisters Clara Lasley, Ada Mae
Backherms and Aileen Steiner, all from Corydon; nine grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses,
The body was cremated. Grayson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
