Nicholas Allen Smith was born on February 28, 1990 in Houston, Texas to Craig and Peggy Meiners Smith. He was a 2008 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School in Katy. Nick enjoyed life spending time with family and friends. He had a contagious smile that he wore through thick and thin. Nick had a heart of gold and loved to help others, often putting their needs before his own, whether they were strangers or not.

His family loves him dearly and cherishes the time they had together.

Nicholas Smith passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 29.

He is survived by his parents, Craig and Peggy Smith; brothers, Blake Smith and Joseph Smith and his wife Carissa; nephews, Kingsley (7) and Camden (2); aunts, Nancy E. Laskbrook of Barrington Lakes, IL, Mary Susen Bookwalter (Ray) of Houston, and Catherine Renee Meiners of Austin; uncles, Peter R.T. Smith, Jr. (Diane) of Athens, GA, David Charles Meiners (Catherine) of Montgomery, TX, Edwin Paul Meiners, III (Mari) of Mesa, AZ, and Clarence J. Bridgen, III (Lesley) of Houston; as well as numerous cousins

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, with Rev. Greg Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. 
            In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to CAPS, Feeding America: U.S Hunger Relief Organization or to the charity of your choice.
