Gary Lee Hastings passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Bolivar, MO. He was born December 17, 1949 in Dade County, MO the son of William and Alice (Barker) Hastings.Gary retired with 27 years from the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield as a Correctional Officer. He spent 27 years shoeing horses. He loved his family, horses, camping and cooking with cast iron.He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Hastings, children; Kim Gillman, Michael Hastings, step children; James Cox and Becky Cummings, 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers; William, Kenny and Kelly Hastings, 2 sisters; Deloris Vandergrift and Alethea Goodman and a host of other relatives and friends.A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25 from 6-8 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A Memorial service will be the morning of April 12, 2014 at Hulston Mill 36 Hulston Mill Ln. Everton, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch 5549 N Highway 13, Brighton, MO 65617.
