Darrell was born on April 24, 1995 in Boston, MA to Patricia Stokes and the late Darrell Young. He graduated from Wilber Cross High School in 2015. After receiving his diploma, he went on to attend college at Suny Sullivan Community College in upstate New York for a year and half on a basketball scholarship. He was employed at Walmart and Yale New Haven Hospital of New Haven Connecticut.
Darrell was the star basketball player on his high school basketball team and because of his skills he was accepted to college on a full ride scholarship. You couldn’t tell him anything when it came to playing basketball. At the age of 19 he became a father to baby DJ. When he became a father, this changed Darrell’s life for the better. He made a promise to his mother and son that he would change his life and do right. He lived for DJ. Darrell was witty and a jokester who loved to be on Facebook live. No one was exempt from his rants on his Facebook post. Let’s not forget Darrell was also a fashionista who loved to stay up-to-date with all the latest fashion. He had to have every new pair of sneakers that hit the market. He loved to have fun with his family and friends and keep everyone laughing. His love for his siblings and family was unconditional. Darrell was loyal to a fault whomever he considered family or friends knew they would have a friend for life.
