Mr. Roland Howard Gibson, Jr., age 72, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at an Atmore nursing facility.
Mr. Gibson was a life-long resident of Brewton/East Brewton area. He was a member of the W.S. Neal High School Class of 1965; was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Homes R Us. Mr. Gibson helped coach multiple sports for various ages for a number of years. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Howard Gibson, Sr. and Katherine "Kitty" Gibson; and a brother, Oland Gibson.
He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Brenda K. Gibson of East Brewton; two sons, Pete (Donna) Gibson of Deatsville, AL, and Heath Gibson of East Brewton; one daughter, Robyn (David) Herndon of East Brewton; three sisters, Linda (Bobby) Edgar of Castleberry, Kathy (Elton) Madden of Brewton; and Becky (Lamar) Adkisson of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Ryan Gibson, Ethan Gibson, McKenzie Gibson, Brodie Gibson, Bristol Gibson, Maddox Herndon, and Mary Mykal Herndon; two great-grandchildren, Layla Gibson, and Bradley Gibson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1 P.M. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Quick officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 Noon until service time at 1 P.M.
