Arnold “Arnie” Wayne Fields, 89, of Libertyville, IA passed away August 5, 2019 at the Jefferson County Health Care Center in Fairfield, IA. He had spent the last year as a resident of Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Arnold was born on October 1, 1929 on the farm in rural Libertyville, the son of Opal K. Fields and Goldie Carter Fields. He married Dolores I. Bonnett on September 3, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Fairfield, IA. He attended rural grade schools and Libertyville High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1953. He managed the family farm for the last 50 years and worked at Dexter Company in Fairfield for 45 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He loved caring for his garden and sitting down for a friendly game of cards. He cherished time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Left to share his story are his two children, Colleen Rodibaugh and Randy (Kathy) Fields, both of rural Libertyville, IA; four grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) Rodibaugh, Brandon (Linda) Rodibaugh, Ashley (Sam) Eastburn, and Dakota Fields (Bailee Coleman); one sister, Gladys Lydolph; one sister-in-law, Sharon Potter-Johnston, as well as nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Dolores; two sisters, Helen Hoage and Doris McIntire; one son-in-law, Steve Rodibaugh and an infant grandson, Hunter Fields.

As per Arnold’s wishes, his body has been cremated. A graveside service for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Fell Cemetery, South of Libertyville, IA with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. A memorial luncheon will be served after the graveside service at the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family, and sent to Colleen Rodibaugh, 10214 Rte. V64, Libertyville, IA 52567.
