Victoria-Marie McCoy, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 26, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. (2Corinthians 1:3-4) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Marie was born in Port Lavaca, January 31, 1930 to the late George and Lola Zachery Roesing. She grew up in Port Lavaca and graduated from Port Lavaca High School. She was a bright, cheery, and beautiful woman who cared and loved her family, and her friends more that herself. She loved her church family and was very active in the Central Church of Christ for many years. She loved the fine arts, and was a member of the Metropolitan Art League and Victoria Art League. She was a docent at the Nave Museum & McNamara House. Museum and participated in many of the children's programs. Marie was a talented artist. leaving behind many awarded paintings and sculptures.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chester Owen McCoy.
Survivors include her children: Judith Gayle McCoy Stich and husband Tiny, Patrick Owen McCoy, Tammy McCoy Ritenour and husband, Klaus. Grandchildren: Paul Michael Owen Smith, Melody Marie McCoy, Matthew McCoy, Miles McCoy, Joy McCoy, Erin Michele Salles and husband, Eric. Great grandchildren: Julia McCoy, Victoria McCoy, Tripp Salles and Preston Salles.
(Philippians 1:21-23) For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
Family visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Colonial Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Klaus Ritenour, Eric Salles, Tiny Stich, Paul Smith, Matthew McCoy, and Miles McCoy. Honorary Pallbearer: the staff and caregivers at Mission Nursing & Rehabilitation Home, Cuero, Texas.
