Obituary:
Leatha Lavada (Parrish) Williams, eldest daughter of Joseph A. and Lydia (Cook) Parrish, was born in Bement, Ill on Sept. 18, 1878, and departed this life on Aug 9, 1969 at the hospital in Bethany, Mo., at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 22 days.
She came to Harrison county, Missouri, at the age of three and grew to womanhood six miles south of Ridgeway and spent her entire life in the Ridgeway and Brooklyn communities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters and her son.
She is survived by her daughters Bell and Berniece, a niece, Ruth Morris, wo was reared in the home from the age of three months, a sister, Effie Hillyard of Bethany, Mo; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
She had been active and maintained her own home until she was hospitalized July 8. She was a good mother and neighbor, loved her home and always ready to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Ridgeway, Mo., on Aug 12, 1969, with the Rev. Noel T. Adams officiating.
Pall bearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law, James Fulton, Joe Evans, Everett Williams, Dick Polley, Larry Jennings and Frank Jennings, Jr.
Flower girls were granddaughters, Marie Fulton, Nova Rea Stockwell, Norma Marticke, Nellie Polley, Verea Weathers and Darlene Elder.
Burial was in Kirkley Chapel Cemetery.
