Denise Adams Austin
February 11, 1960 - August 04, 2019

Denise Adams was born on February 11, 1960 to .TB Adams and Worley Beatrice Adams in Chicago, Illinois. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Sunday, August 4, 2019.

As a little girl, Denise "Necie" loved to ride her bike, shoot marbles, sing and write. Denise would walk around with a pen and paper everywhere she went. She also loved Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior at an early age while attending her favorite Grandmother, Rosetta Henderson's church, (Unity Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C.) under the Pastoral leadership of her uncle, James Henderson Jr. While in church she sang and played the tambourine, and played it like nobody's business. Necie was an active member of Solomon's Temple Church of God In Christ (Elder Solomon Davis) from 1982-1992 where she helped with the music and activities ministries.

She attended Hearst Grammar School from 1965-1974 and started singing in groups with her sister, Valerie. Together they entered and won many talent shows around the city of Chicago. Denise then entered Corliss High School from 1974-1976. Following her love for music Necie continued her music career joining the Soulful Struts, and First love. During that time Necie opened for several musical acts including Marvin Gaye, The Gap Band, Rick James and Kool & the Gang. During that time, they recorded two albums, performed for the first black mayor of Chicago, Harold Washington. Denise also sang backup for musical legend, Pop Staples. She then joined forces with the group Funk International, led by Frank Collier where they traveled to Europe and Japan and won the hearts of many.

Denise later married Timothy Terrell Austin and to this union two children were born, Dujuan (Juannie) Austin Sr. and Tonneshea "Nesha/Lady" Austin. Denise relocated to Nashville, Tennessee on July 17, 1992 where she resided for the duration of her life.

With the need to fill the void of not having a church home, Denise joined Stateland Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Rob Willis. At the age of 50 years young, Denise accepted her calling as an evangelist. During her adult life, Denise was a devoted mother, and what many friends and family would consider as a comforter, counselor, teacher, encourager and friend. Necie was always available when anyone needed help, even while enduring her own struggles. Necie would drop whatever she was doing to take care of someone else in need, especially family, because they meant everything to her. Necie will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her son, Dujuan Austin, Sr. (Sheree); daughter, Tonneshea Austin Davis (Kelvin); grandchildren, Dujuan Austin Jr., TiAisia Ausin - Warren, R'Reon Austin, Shanea Austin, Dicario Austin, Amina Colley and Tiaira Avant; great - grandchildren, Dujuan Austin III, Skye Austin and Dukeon Austin; a host of nieces and nephews, that were like her children, other family members and friends.
