Naomi R. Mitchell, 91, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Mitchell was born April 11, 1928, in Union City, Ohio, the loving daughter of James and Rosalie D. Hyre Fultz. On December 21, 1947, Naomi married Wayne F. Mitchell; he preceded her in death June 20, 1980.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Westside Community Church and was a former member of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.
A homemaker, Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed crafts, crocheting, cross stitch, sewing and making drapery and playing the piano.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Dennis) Stansifer of Columbus and Joan (Donald) Bale of White Oak, Texas; grandchildren, Craig (Cheryl) Stansifer of Centerville, Ohio, Lorna (Korry) Clark of Columbus, Adam (Katheryn) Stansifer of Centreville, Virginia, Robin Bale of San Antonio, Texas and Misty (Joey) Hicks of Kilgore, Texas; great-grandchildren, Gramm, Noal and Reed Stansifer, Kendrick Clark, Julia Martin, Tyler, Buddy and Jillian Bale and Joe and Hayden Hicks; and great-great grandchildren, Connor and Chandler Martin.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her father, James Fultz; her mother, Rosalie D. Hyre; and her husband, Wayne F. Mitchell.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Community Church with Pastor Dennis W. Aud officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
The committal service will be held at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington, Indiana. Mrs. Mitchell will be laid to rest next to her husband and her mother following the committal service.
