Given a larger context and the lack of any ability to fully reconstruct records for the area after the destruction of parish registers in a rectory fire...

This mention is being interpreted as a spelling mistake. No "Louis" is mentioned in provincial documents that pertain to this marker. Further, there is no "Louis" mentioned in the books prepared and published by the local historical society.

This mention is now being attributed to "Louise Savard", wife of Joseph James Desaulniers. Though no provincial death registration has yet come to hand (2022), she is mentioned in historical society accounts as having passed away in 1910. That date is reflected on this memorial.

Family records indicate she may have also been the mother of two further children, both of whom died unnamed and undocumented, one in 1895 and the other in 1898.

Also of note: no census records for the James and Louise Desaulnier(s) family exist in any form. Only mentions of some of their children living with their aunt Laure and her husband Jean-Marie Tremorin after her passing have yet come to hand (2022). Further: With the sole exception of the provincial marriage record, no reliable records of her husband (Joseph "James", born in about 1870) have been identified.
