ELLIOTT MAN DIES IN COLORADO
Zearl Hallcock, 79, Elliott, died Thursday morning at Brighton, Colorado, after an extended illness.
He was born October 24, 1896, in Pilot Grove Township, Montgomery County, Iowa, the son of John and Lela Hallcock, and was married January 9, 1918 to Lorraine Kirby at Elliott. Mrs. Hallcock died in October 1975.
A retired farmer and auctioneer, he had served man years as Mayor at Elliott. He was a lifetime resident of Montgomery County was a member of the Elliott United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Hallcock of Oakland, California and Bill Hallcock of Westminster, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Elliott United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Foster, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, at Elliott with Nelson Boylan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Lynn Adams was soloist and Mrs. Volney Dahlstrom was organist . Ushers were Jay Hogeveen and Earl Gemmill. Pall bearers were Roy Barr,, Thomas Shellberg, David Reynolds, Jack Thompson, Glen Thompson, and Jerry Thompson.
