Will proved 28 Feb. 1744 (Prince Frederick’s Parish, Craven County, S. C.) and all lands to Amos and that at Cypress Creek to be sold and money to daughters, all said children are under age; $ to Prince Fred. Parrish Ch. for repairs; his cattle are on Lynches Creek & south side of Pee Dee River (Caroline T. Moore, Abstracts of Wills of State of SC 1670-1784, 3 vols, p39); Prince Frederick's Church founded 1713 on a Black River bluff; Church of England; estate appraisal in 1745: 32 slaves and 380 head of cattle (Caroline T. Moore, Abstracts of Wills...1740-1760); here as early as 1733 (named in platt for 750 acres in craven Co. for John McKoy)(Pre-Rev. War platt books @ S. C. state Archives, vol 1, page 00450); 250 acres plat dated 19 Feb 1835 Craven Co.(Pre-Rev. War platt books @ S. C. state Archives, vol 3, page 22); 850 acre platt in 2 Nov, 1744 in Prince Frederick Parish, Craven Co., on Black River (Pre-Rev. War platt books @ S. C. state Archives, vol5, p.174). Married Mary ? & first noted in S. C. on baptism of daughter Gennett in 1724. He was among a handful of residents who met at Black River Church before Prince Frederick Parish was created in 1734 & then associated with what is now Rice Hope Plantation, near Ramsey Grove Plantation & about 7 miles from Georgetown (Linder & Thatcher, Hist. Atlas of the Rice Plantations of Georgetown & the Santee River. viewed @ S. C. state ASrchives).
