James F. Boyle, age 80, of Mauston died on Saturday April 28, 2012 at his home by the river in Mauston. James was born June 13, 1931 in Lindina Township to Joseph Boyle and Bernice Bennett. James graduated from Mauston High School in 1949. After school James served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954. James was united in marriage to Rita Marlene Boyle on November 16, 1957 in New Lisbon. They then moved to Kenosha where James worked for Outboard Marine in Waukegan, IL for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He later worked for the Kenosha Public Museum from 1987 to 1994. James was a member of St. Marks Parish in Kenosha and was active as a CCD instructor, Ushers Club, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Bingo Committee. He also served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America from 1970 to 1980. James enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Alemande Square Dance Club. They moved back to Mauston in 1994. After moving back they were members of St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Lisbon. James was a member of the New Lisbon American Legion Post 110.
James is survived by 2 daughters, Pamela (Jeff Schultz) Boyle of Mauston and Angela (Steve) Barbera of Mauston, 3 sons, Duane (Angel) Boyle of Lake Wood, WI, Joel (Rock Levesque) Boyle and James (Mia) Boyle of Oak Hill, VA, a brother Don (Sue Gunn) Robbins of Mauston, WI, and by 4 grandchildren, Eric (Tami) Boyle, Cori (Phillip) Blotevogel, Alisha Boyle, and Alex Boyle, and by 3 great grandchildren, Brody, Max and Breck Boyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rita in 2011.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Lisbon with Fr. George Nelson Graham presiding. Relatives and friends may call at the Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon on Tuesday from 5:00pm till 8:00pm with a wake service at 7:00pm. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00am till the time of service. Burial with Military Honors will be in the New Lisbon City Cemetery.
