Marie "Maxie" Mitchell
June 15, 1934 - August 3, 2019
Marie “Maxie” Mitchell, 85, years of age of Iaeger, WV passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her home. Born June 15, 1934 in Bradshaw WV, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James Mitchell and Lula Bell Mullins Mitchell.

Maxie was of the Christian faith and enjoyed singing, listening to music, watching Church on TV, loved shopping and eating Frosty’s from Wendys.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Nora Jackson, Myrtle Jewell, Melda Hicks, and Margaret Mitchell; five brothers, Charlie Mitchell, Britt Mitchell, Newt Mitchell, Hassell Mitchell, and infant brother Sam Mitchell; and a great-nephew, Dwayne Cline.

Those left to cherish her memories include her loving niece and caregiver Charlene Cline of Iaeger, WV; one sister, Maudie Cooper of NC, one brother Jesse J. Mitchell of VA; special nieces and nephews, Jessica Cline, Justin Cline, Jason Cline; and numerous other nieces and nephews who she loved.

She is also survived by special great-great nephew and her ‘hey hey’, Justin Cameron Cline; and her special friend who could always put a smile on her face, Randy Lester. The family would like to say a special thank you to her niece Beverly and husband Randy Coble for calling daily to check on her and coming from NC to visit, it always made her day. The family would also like to say how much they appreciated all the nurses at Welch Community Hospital and Tug River Clinic for the help that was given to her.

Funeral services for Marie “Maxie” Mitchell will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV, with Reverend Charles Rose and Reverend Pete Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Jewell Cemetery on Bradshaw Mountain up Rockridge, in Bradshaw, WV.
