~My MOM~

Mildred and all her siblings were born in Covelo Mendocino Co CA. As a young women she married Elmer R Henderson in Willows CA. They had five children. They divorced about 1942. Mildred lived in Willows Glenn Co CA with her husband Frank H. Michaud SR, who she married on August 23, 1958, till about 1972, then they moved to Paradise Butte Co CA. Frank died in 1984. Mom was called "Millie". In 1997 she moved to Visalia Tulare Co CA with daughter Verna(that's me)and lived there till her death. She worked for a newspaper in Sacramento Ca, and for the Union Pacific Railroad in Nevada. She worked for about thirteen years at the Signal Depot in Sacramento Ca.

Her favorite vacation spot was in Clear Lake, while she was working in Sacramento. She rented a cabin in Nice in Clear Lake CA every year. One year she and I (I was about 12 years of age)were at the Lake and had run out of money so we slept in sleeping bags on the sand next to the waters edge and in the wee hours of the morning we woke up with fishermen stepping over us on their way to fish at a favorite spot. I think they were as surprised as we were....We always had a good time even if we didn't have any money left...I miss our little adventures to places we hadn't been, our many trips to Three Rivers for wildberry ice cream, our trips over to the coast at San Simeon and to Mendocino and the trips' to Covelo to the Cemetery. And our being close to each other...

In her younger years she played a violin and fiddle. She also was a good shot with a rifle.... Mom was 85 yrs 10 mo and 24 days old when she died...

Mom,
The day God called you home was the most painful for me,
I took it so hard, I didn't want to believe.
I said "Mom can't be gone, there still so much to say,
Things we haven't done together -we said we do another day.
It tore my heart in pieces to think you were gone,
First dad and now you, I felt so alone.
Disconnected from the world, nothing could I do,
I felt numb all over- No this can't be true.
Mom has left me behind to be with others she loved,
She was ready for the day God called her from above.

~I love you Mom, always~

~ A Mother's Love~

There is no love, like a mother's love,
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.
A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.
God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.
When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.
Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.
