Funeral services for Mrs. Charlene L. Walker, age 79 of Lineville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Black's Chapel Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Elvis North, MG Flem B. Walker Jr., and Ben Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Walker passed away on August 2, 2019 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she graduated from Lineville High School with the class of '57. She traveled with her husband Flem Sr., as a military wife and mother, before returning to Clay County. She retired from the Anniston Army Depot, where she worked in Finance and Accounting. She was a great wife and mother, who loved scrapbooking and crocheting, along with volunteering and community service. Mrs. Walker; a longtime member of the Black's Chapel Independent Methodist Church, served as secretary and treasurer, loved singing in the choir and was also a member of the Black's Chapel Ladies Club.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 62 years, Flem B. Walker Sr. of Lineville; her son, MG Flem Walker Jr. (Hope) of Huntsville; two daughters: Donna Kay Burton (Larry) of Lineville and Darline Ioma Carr of Ashland; one brother, Ray Latham (Beverly) of Ashland; seven grandchildren; Chris Carr, MAJ Zach Burton, Bridgette Burton, Ben Burton, Hannah Maginley, Holly Walker, 1LT Flem B. Walker III; seven great-grandchildren: Aubrie and Alex Daniels; Makenna and Lawson Burton, Brooks and Sawyer Burton and Jackson Maginley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Barney Vernon Latham and Willie Mae Macoy Latham; one son-in-law, Steve Carr and an infant sister.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Carr, Alex Daniels, MAJ Zach Burton, Jeff Kinder, Ben Burton, 1LT Flem B. Walker III and Larry Fetner.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
