Peggy Baker Day, 84, of Ironton, passed away with her family on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. She was born on July 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Bruce and Dovie Tipton Davis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence F, "Sonny" Baker II, and her husband, Harlan Day; one son, Charles E. Baker; and one grandson-in-law, Peter Underwood. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and The D.A.R. She is survived by a son, John D. (Judy) Baker and a daughter, Charla "Sissy" (Bob) Clyse. Also a niece, Jill VonRothe, who she helped raise. Grandchildren include Tyler (Savannah) Clyse, Austin (Michael) Underwood Piper, Crosby Clyse, Duncan Ramsay, Sunni (Joseph) Unger, Sydnee (Tim) Baker-Combs, John David Baker Jr.; great grandchildren include Finley, Briar and Rowan Clyse, Lyla and Jude Underwood and Jago Piper. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 a.m. at Okeef-Baker Funeral Home, 1108 S. Sixth St., Ironton with Fr. Charles Moran and Rev Jim Smedly officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery section 12.
