THE PARIS NEWS, Tue., Sep. 23, 1997, p. 4B: ‘Opal Proctor Clifton, 8O, of Paris died Monday, Sep. 22, 1997, at Paris Nursing Home. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 24, at Meadowbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Lamar County to Thomas Evans and Retha Ann Ables Jones. She was a retired registered nurse and a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Jim Proctor of Costa Rica; three stepsons, Cary and James Clifton of Paris, and David Clifton of Pittsburgh; and six grandchildren.
