MARY RAYFIELD HULING, 82, died at home, Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Ranger. Mrs. Huling was born on May 18, 1921, in Gainesville, Texas, to Virginia and Joe B. Rayfield. She was in the Ranger High School class of 1937 and was married to Thomas J. Huling on September 15, 1942, who preceded her in death. They had two daughters, Denise Huling Cohen, Class of 1965, and Teresa Lynn Huling Basham, Class of 1968. Denise lives in Mesa, Arizona, with her husband, Richard, and Teresa lives in Ranger with her husband, Jerry Don 'Jake' Basham, Class of 1959. Mary and her husband, Thomas, at one time ran Tommie's Grocery and she had the shop, Mary's Fabrics. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger and had been a resident of Ranger all of her life. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Stacy Bowen and husband Jason of Fort Worth, Roy Basham of San Angelo, Mark Shoemaker of Houston, and David and Paul Shoemaker, both of Portland, Salem Oregon, & one great granddaughter, Jenna Lynn Bowen. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Melanie Huling and brothers Joe and Jack Rayfield.

A memorial service was held on Monday, March 1, at the First Baptist Church in Ranger.
