Darrell Ray McCauley, 71, of Barnsdall, died at 5:20 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Barnsdall following an extended illness. He was born at Barnsdall on October 31, 1944 to William Lee and Pauline Bernice (Sills) McCauley.

He grew up and received his education in Barnsdall where he graduated from high school in 1962. He was employed at his uncle’s service station in Barnsdall until entering the United States Air Force in 1963. He served overseas during the VietNam Conflict and received his Honorable Discharge in 1967. He then returned to the Barnsdall area and was employed at the carpet factory in Pawhuska and then at Reda Pump in Bartlesville. He began employment at the Bareco plant (now Baker-Hughes) in Barnsdall in 1971 and was employed with them until his retirement in 2006 after 35 years of service. He was married to Glenda Irene (Henson) Moore on November 6, 1997 in Avant and they have made their home in the Barnsdall area since that time. He was a member of the Barnsdall First Baptist Church and the Barnsdall American Legion Post where he had served on the Honor Guard. He loved to garden and to play golf and to go on fishing trips with his brother and cousins to Kaw Lake.

Mr. McCauley is survived by his wife, Glenda McCauley of the home, two sons, Jack Johnson and wife Diane of Barnsdall and Richie Johnson and wife Jenny of Paola, Kansas, four grandchildren, Zach Johnson and wife Rikki, Sarah Johnson, Garon Johnson and Jordan Johnson and one great grandson, Brady Ray, one brother, Ed McCauley and wife Sue of Barnsdall, two sisters, Janice Gott and husband Russell of Barnsdall and Donna Perrier and husband John of Pawhuska and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, William (Billy) McCauley, Jerry McCauley and John McCauley.

Memorial services for Mr. McCauley will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Barnsdall First Baptist Church with Pastor Pat Andrews officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Barnsdall Funeral home.
