Briggs, Nancy Jane 79, died August 1, 2019 with her family by her side in Richmond, VA. She was born April 7, 1940 in Quewhiffle Township, in Hope County, North Carolina to Samuel and Annie Briggs. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister, Jean, and her niece, Pam. Nancy is survived by her sisters, Ellin Howell and Jo Ann Stokes, two brothers-in-law, Bill and Charles; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 3 nephews-in-law 5 great nieces, 6 great nephews, 1great nephew-in-law, and 3 great-great nephews. Nancy, the longest standing employee, worked at Virginia Physicians for 53 years, where she was well loved by her bosses and coworkers. She was a joy to everyone she met and enjoyed many good times with family and friends through her life, constantly making everybody laugh. She was lovingly referred to by many as “Crazy Aunt Nancy.” The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Bliley’s - Staples Mill 8510 Staples Mill Road with a Celebration of Life immediately following. A Graveside service will be held at Rocky Fork Christian Church 4246 Rocky Fork Church Road, Sanford, NC on Friday, August 9 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in her name to the American Lung Association.
