Mrytle was born to Rev. James Harrison and Martha Mattie Dabney McFall in 1894 in Sipe Springs, Tx. She was their fourth child out of Six. She married Samuel Frances Chaney in 1917 in Colorado City, TX. She and Sam owned the Cowboy Gas Station near Noelke Switch then moved it when the highway changed and then also built a Rock House where they had a ranch. They retired then moved into Mertzon and lived behind the Park. Myrtle was Methodist. They had no children of their own.
