We are guessing that he was born about 1700. Peter suffered losses in the Charleston fire of 1740 (S. C. Historical & Genealogy Soc. Magazine, vol. 64) the year after he married the widow, Martha Clewes Blundell (9 Sep 1739, by Register St. Phillips Parish 1720-1758); owns then lease & release (400 lease & release Pre-revolutionary War records at the S. C. Archives, vol 00W0, page 120) to Thomas Farr & then sells lot #225 (Charleston Co., S. C. deeds in Register Mesne Conveyance) on Johnson St. in Charles Town, originally granted to father-in-law, James Clewes (sold 1741) in 5/9/1694 (Charleston Co., S. C. deeds in Register Mesne Conveyance); married the widow Blundell (Register St. Phillips Parish 1720-1758). Estate inventory 17 Aug. 1744 (Charleston, S. C. Probate Records, vol. 67A p.99). We assiume that Peter Shaw is buried in Charleston or Charleston County. On 8 Jan. 1745, Martha enters into her 3rd marriage, & it is with Thomas Weaver (Register St. Phillips Parish 1720-1758).
