Anita R. Berry was received by her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 11, 2017 after she passed away peacefully in Tallahassee, Florida. Anita was born in Tampa, Florida on October 21, 1925 and resided there until she moved to the Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee in May 2015. Anita was a successful business woman, having owned several beauty salons in the Tampa area from 1958 until 1985. She was an active member of the Tampa Bay community and was honored to serve as past president of many civic organizations, including the Tampa Jaycettes, B.C. Graham PTA, Tampa Chapter of American Business Women Association (ABWA} and the Pilot Club of Tampa Bay. Anita was appointed by Florida Governor Bob Graham to the Hillsborough County Historic Preservation Board and also served on the DACCO Board of Trustees from 1973 through 1991. She was a dedicated servant at St. Chad's Episcopal Church from 1987 through 2014, leading and faithfully supporting the "Over 50's Outreach Club" and serving as a Senior Warden. Anita was predeceased by her parents, Salvador Rodriguez and Providenza Cusumano, daughter Linda Faye (Zebold) Cronk and grandson James Ernest Riddell, Jr. She is survived by her son, John S. Berry, III (Allison) of Tallahassee and daughter Carol Ann Riddell ( James) of Tampa. She was a proud grandmother of five. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.
