Mortician. The son of E. LeRoy and Anna J. (Clark) Surfus of Indiana, he was for 11 years the proprietor of the Surfus Funeral Home in Ligonier. He came to Los Angeles 10 months before his death at age 47. Husband of Coral Isle (Stage) Surfus, they married in Indiana in 1910 and were the parents of Gertrude (Surfus) Priest.
