William Christopher Ratliff, 57, of Hixson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2019. He was born on January 14, 1962 in Amarillo, Texas. Chris was a graduate of LFO High School Class of 1980. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in graphic design from UTC and went on to be a Graphic Design Artist for the International Board of Jewish Missions. He was a member at Hixson First Baptist Church. Chris was a 3 palmed Eagle Scout, a Vigil Honor recipient, part of the Wood Badge Community, former Scout Master and mentor to nearly 20 eagle scouts for Troop 166 Hixson, TN Burkes UMC. Chris had a love for the outdoors, hiking, camping, repelling and simply being in the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Ratliff.
Survivors include his father, William Gary Ratliff; son, Christian Andrew Ratliff; and brother, Bryan (Shannon) Ratliff.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eric Mullinax and Dr. Travis S. Shipley officiating. Interment will follow in Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International Board of Jewish Missions or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
