Iris Mae Foster, 93, of Cobbs Creek, Virginia passed away on Thursday,
August 1, 2019 at Riverside-Walter Reed Hospital. She was a member of
Spring Hill Baptist. She loved crocheting, quilting, and caring for children
whom she loved with a passion. She loved to watch the birds, but most
of all she loved having a house full of friends and family for whom she
always prepared and served abundant meals. She is preceded in death by
her husband, Leroy S. Foster and two great-grandsons; Chase Daniels
Brown and Andrew Saunders Foster. She is survived by a daughter Dana
Brown of Cobbs Creek, Virginia and a son Rev. S. Roy Foster (Melissa
Diane) of Tappahannock, Virginia; 4 grandsons, Roland Brown (Robin), Lee
Brown, Willie Brown (Trista), and Caleb Foster (Kristen); 4 great-granddaughters,
Alyson, Shelley, Kelyn, and Kinsley. Graveside services
will be held at Windsor Gardens Cemetery on Monday, August 5 at 11:00
AM. A reception will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church following the
service. A special thank you to the care team at Heron Cove 2 for their
love and compassion for our mom the “social butterfly”. In lieu of flowers
please make memorial donations to Spring Hill Baptist Church, P.O. Box
92, Cobbs Creek, Virginia 23035 or to Upper Essex Church, P.O. Box 225,
Caret, VA 22436. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel,
