She believed if you kept the faith, trust in the Lord and keep the right attitude and be grateful, God would open many doors.

She was given the honor and title of Honorary Supreme Grand Matron in 2019 by Past Supreme Matron Sis. Jacqueline D.C. Spires.

She was the Matriarch of her family and of Electra Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

Lela had a long and prosperous journey and she enjoyed every minute of it, from her family to her Christian journey to her Fraternal journey. She has traveled all over, with her loving spirit, she never met a stranger. She was a mother to all who came in her pathway. As she lives in our Hears, what greater tribute could there be to her memory than to continue our lives in love, peace, and generosity. She was a woman who truly loved the Lord. She used to always say "O give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, and His mercy endures forever."
