Born on July 15, 1938, in Baileysville, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Wade Morgan and Margaret Jane Short Morgan.
Mrs. Ferguson was a former tax department clerk in Springboro, OH, and served as a volunteer at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Beckley, where she was active in the Senior Choir and Fishes and Loaves.
Mrs. Ferguson enjoyed walking, gardening in her lawn and traveling. She loved her church and serving the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Day.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 19 years, Ron Ferguson; two step daughters, Tanya Williams of Franklin, OH, and Sonya Bridge and husband Daniel of Hamilton, OH; two brothers, Bob Morgan of Pineville, WV, and Bill Morgan of Columbus, OH; a sister, Brenda K. Bradford and husband Roy of Saulsville, WV; eight step grandchildren, many step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Shirley Ferguson on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 1 PM at Family Worship Center, Pinewood Drive, Beckley, WV. with Pastor Luke Hodges, Pastor Stacy Dingess, and Rev. Robert Day officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM until service time on Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Russell Cook, Tom Rubin, Bob Sanger, Charles Arthur, Johnny Rakes and Dale Stewart.
