Mrs. Karen Denise Cook Barr, 61, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Mrs. Barr was born Dec. 25, 1956 in Iredell County. She was a daughter of Nancy Payne Brown and the late Robert “Bobby” Reid Cook.

She attended First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis.

Mrs. Barr is survived by her daughter, Sarah Barr Hefner and husband Aaron; son, Joey Barr and wife Megan; her mother, Nancy Payne Brown and husband Jerry Dale Brown; two grandchildren, Emerson and Adelynn Barr; two sisters, Deanna Shue and husband Tim of Kannapolis and Kim Elmore and husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; two brothers, Tim Cook of Kannapolis and Mike Brown and wife Peggie of Mt. Gilead; two nieces, Jessica Cook and Megan Shue; and five nephews, Dustin Shue, Kendal Shue, Brett Mincey, Jeremy Cook and Justin Cook.

Arrangements: A celebration of life is scheduled for 12 p.m., Saturday, June 9, at First Wesleyan Church. Rev. Scott Wheeler will officiate.
