Mattie Upperman, 91, of Stephens, AR passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at her residence.
Mattie was born on September 27, 1927 in Harmony Grove, AR to the late John and Eugenia (Brinkley) Crain. She was known as the Avon lady in Springhill, LA for years. She had many friends and was a "momma" to many. Mattie went to school and grew up in the Harmony Grove Community and moved to Springhill, LA where she lived until she moved to Stephens, AR to live with her family.
Mattie was preceded in death by her parents; spouses Ance Keene Jr., William Lee, and Carl Upperman; daughter Jeannie Miller; sisters, Vera Rassmussen and Johnnie Jean Farley; and brothers, Freddie Crain, Edward Crain, and Vernon Crain.
She is survived by her son Ronald Keene and wife Kathryn of Stephens, AR; granddaughters, Heather Bland-Miller of Taylor, AR, Carla Whitehead and husband Terry and their daughter Olivia of Sarepta, LA, and Hannah Kincheloe and husband Kenneth and their son Michael of Waldo, AR; grandsons, Colin Keene and wife Erika and their daughter Kira of El Dorado, AR and Zach Keene and wife Kelley and their daughter Korbin of Bryant, AR; step-sons, Dennis Lee of Taylor, AR, Kenneth Lee of Cuba, MO, Don Lee of Cuba, Mo; and step-daughters, Connie Lee of Cuba, MO and Sharon Grubbs of GA.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Springhill Cemetery in Springhill, LA with Dr. Eric Goble officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.
