Rebecca "Betty" Simon was born in Dubrinsk, Lithuania. She moved to Tacoma from Nova Scotia in 1926, when she married Joseph Simon. Betty was a member of Temple Beth El, Sisterhood of Temple Beth El, and a life member of Hadassah. She and Joseph were the parents of four children: Phil, Norm, Shirley (Olson,) and Herb Simon. Betty was the sister of Mrs. Sam (Bessie) Fine.
