Gregory Wallace “Bo” Casto, 68, of Evans, WV, passed away suddenly, July 30, 2019, at his second home in Vienna, WV.

He was born January 1, 1951, the son of the late Harlan W. Casto, Jr. and Marjorie (Sayre) Casto.

Bo, was a 1969 graduate of Ripley High School and was very active in coordinating their recent 50-year anniversary. Following high school, he attended West Virginia Tech, was later employed by Point Express, was a member of the Boilermakers Union and retired from Appalachian Power Company.

He was a member of Ripley Lodge #16 AF & AM and the Nemesis Temple Shrine, Parkersburg. For several years, Bo has been an active supporter of the Shriners Hospitals. He was a Roadrunner for Shriners volunteer, transporting children to and from the hospital in Lexington, KY, and was the recipient of many awards for his service.

Bo was a member, a National Referee and a National Champion Coach for the Natural Athletic Strength Association (NASA). He coached teams to the National Championships in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, and was a NASA team coach for AAU. He was also an inductee into the NASA Legends Hall of Fame.

He served as the statistician for the Ripley High football team in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s and was a life member of the Ripley High School Alumni Association. He also surprised and thrilled many local children by being Santa Clause during the Christmas Season and was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Kay (Moore) Casto; son, Seth Wallace Casto (Samantha); daugher, DeVonna Casto; grandson, Cameron Wallace Allen Casto; granddaughter, McKinze Kaylynn Casto; sister, Lucky Lee Murdock; stepson, Aaron Wix (Brenda) and step grandchildren, Ethan Wix and Ella Wix.

Service will be 5 p.m. August 4, 2019, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with John Gunther officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service. Private burial will be in the Otterbein Cemetery, Evans.

Kenneth L. Duty

Kenneth L. Duty, 71, of Point Pleasant, WV, formerly of Letart, WV, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Point Pleasant, WV.

He was born February 12, 1948 a son of the late James Albert & Bettie Maureen (Gue) Duty.

He was a former truck driver for Carson Farms and was a Baptist by faith.

There will be no public services at this time.
