Charles Edward “Chuck” Meyers was born on August 20, 1952, in Edgewood, the son of Clyde R. and Mary Jane (Thomas) Meyers. He lived in the Edgewood area his entire life, growing up on various farms arounds Clayton County. Chuck graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg High School in 1970. After graduation, Chuck worked various jobs around Edgewood including opening and operating the “C & C Standard Station” with his dad Clyde.

On June 8, 1985, Chuck married Debbie Lewin at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport; they had two children.

Chuck worked as a semi-truck driver for most of his life. He began his career as a cross-country driver working for his now wife’s dad, Eugene (Bud) Lewin, and then nine years driving for Kelchen Grain. Currently, Chuck was employed at Silver Edge Cooperative where he had spent the last 27 years as a driver.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed mushroom hunting, turkey hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. His belongings were in mint condition and he was known around the community for the shiniest blue semi on the road.

He died at age 66 on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019, in a car-semi accident near Fairbank.

He was a member of the FFA, the Woodcenter Eagles 4H club, and the Edgewood Masonic Lodge.

Chuck was survived by his wife, 2 children, 2 grandchildren, his mother, 4 siblings, and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Meyers; his father-and-mother-in-law Eugene and Shirley Lewin.
