Eileen Ellis, 90, of Lansing MI passed away at the Regency in Lansing MI. She was born in Shelburn IN on August 18, 1928 to Hobart Thompson and Fontella (Taylor) Thompson.
She was a 1946 graduate of Shelburn High School, and was married to Paul Ellis, also from Shelburn, for 44 years until his passing in 1993.
Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She had a sweet disposition and a natural sense of humor. She loved to play cards and was involved in numerous weekly bridge clubs for as long as she was able. During her 20 years in Daytona Beach, Florida, she was a member of New Horizons Club and held many positions including president and treasurer. She was proud to call herself a Methodist.
Eileen is survived by her four children: Beverly (Robert) Swanson in Murrells Inlet, SC, Paula DeBoer in Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Richard Ellis (Carol) in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and James Ellis in Cornelius, NC, along with other family and friends.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor Julie Putman officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery.
