Beloved father, cherished grandfather, treasured brother and uncle, Jesse Mack “Macko” Owens, age 72, passed away at his home in Karnack, Texas on Tuesday, July 30, 2019. He was born in Good Springs, Texas on March 20, 1947 to Gipson and Vera (Dukes) Owens. Macko is preceded in death by his wife, Tallie Leonardos; parents, Gipson and Vera Owens; his daughter-in-law, Melody Medders; and his brothers, Billy Owens, Bobby Owens and John Owens. He is survived by his children, Scott Garcia (Lucy), Michael Garcia, April Matthews (Keith); numerous cherished grandchildren; sisters, Bettie Hughes (Jack), Sarah Plunkett (Bill) as well as many nieces and nephews. Macko is also survived by his four-legged “kiddos”, Louie, Daisy Mae, DooDad and Show Up who will surely miss their cooked breakfasts each morning. Macko graduated from Carlisle High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was employed as a water meter installer in Uncertain and as a welder on many metal buildings in the area. Macko loved to cook, throw crawfish boils, hunt and fish, but his true passion was spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Duncan Cemetery in Good Springs, Texas. On-line condolences may be offered at www.meadowbrook.com
