Roy "HAMMER" Horton, age 53, of Conowingo, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on July 30, 2019. Roy was born in Havre De Grace, MD on July 02, 1966 to Harry Thomas Horton and Shirley Ann (Pugh) Horton.
Roy graduated from Rising Sun High School, MD in 1984. He worked at Pier 1 imports for 16 years in Aberdeen, MD. Roy enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and listening to music. He would often spend time working on various projects in the garage and around the house. Roy was a sports fan, and particularly liked to cheer for his favorite team, the Miami Dolphins. His greatest joy was being a dad and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Donna Horton; daughter, Lilliann Horton; two sons: Nick Lanchak and his companion, Kelsey Welsh; and Seth Lanchak and his companion, Kellie Hutchins. Father, Harry Horton; mother, Shirley Horton; sister, Natalie Horton and her companion, Chas Simpson. Roy is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Conowingo Baptist Church, 151 Rock Springs Rd., Conowingo, MD 21918 where family and friends may begin visiting at 9:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made payable to "Conowingo Baptist Church" and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248.
