Prior to a tragic accident in 1991, Tim was a vibrant young man who shared joy with all who knew him. A careless medical mistake left him in a permanent vegetative state, and in spite of all the prayers and hopes of his family and the best care that can be provided, Tim did not regain consciousness. In this desperate situation, Tim was abandoned by his wife (the former Vickie Arndt, also known as Vickie Thornburg and Vicky Lietzke), his mother and brothers and sisters. His loving, wise and caring father and stepmother dedicated fifteen years of their lives, their health, their time and their savings to making sure that his needs were met.
